Our Story

Brook & Earl Mindful Floral Design creates natural, wildly elegant floral
designs for weddings, events…and all life’s other little moments & celebrations.

But we’re not only about flowers. We’re about nature & wellbeing. We’re about supporting & empowering women.

We use creativity, mindfulness & floristry to nurture a safe creative sanctuary on the beautiful Broughton Hall Estate.

It’s exactly what I imagined when I set out on this floral journey.

I’m Jane, the founder of Brook & Earl. Let me share my story…
Doing the Impossible…
Have you ever had a dream that you felt was impossible to achieve?

Sometimes things just seem too far from our reach to believe we can do it.

Well, let me tell you a little secret that a lovely friend once told me…

“Start by doing what’s necessary, then do what’s possible,
and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”
My friend was right. Because for the last few years, I’ve lived by this.

And here I am…doing the impossible!

But it wasn’t an easy journey.

With over 25 years in design & styling, three years ago fate dictated a very different path for me.

I left my job in the corporate world (as head of creative for one of the world’s largest greeting card companies) and dedicated my life to looking after elderly family members. The decision was tough, but it was something I felt compelled to do.

I adapted to my new role of carer well at first. But eventually I felt like I was losing myself and everything I stood for.
Being creative is in my DNA and it just felt like something was missing. There was a huge void.

Re-awakening My Creativity…

A month before Christmas 2016, I attended a wreath making course. During this couple of hours, I not only learnt a new skill but all the worries and problems I was facing just drifted away. I’d found my happy place.

That’s when I knew I needed to get back to my creative roots.

I’m from a family of gardeners and always had my own garden that I tended from the age of 6, growing and planting my own flowers. So, floristry seemed a very natural choice.

Over the following years, I retrained with Leafy Couture and rekindled my love of nature and floristry.

Seeds of Change…

Having gone through this dramatic shift, I not only felt the need for change for myself but recognised that I could help others. I love having a team around me and I love nurturing talent.

That’s why I decided to set up Brook & Earl as both a floristry and a creative, mindful space for workshops.

When I found my studio on the magical Broughton Hall Estate, it was like all the stars aligned. And at last everything was falling into place.

Brook & Earl is my floral sanctuary for the soul. I hope you’ll love it as much as I do…and that you’ll slow down & enjoy all we have to offer here.

You’re always welcome.
