Hello, I’m Jane, the founder of Brook & Earl.

Let me share my story…

Doing the Impossible…

Have you ever had a dream that you felt was impossible to achieve? Sometimes, things just seem too far from our reach to believe we can do it.

Let me tell you a little secret that a lovely friend once told me…

“Start by doing what’s necessary, then do what’s possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”

My friend was right. Because for the last few years, I’ve lived by this.

And here I am…doing the impossible!

But it wasn’t an easy journey.

With over 25 years in design & styling, in 2016, fate dictated a very different path for me.

I left my job in the corporate world (as head of creative for one of the world’s largest greeting card companies) and dedicated my life to looking after elderly family members.

The decision was tough, but it was something I felt I had to do.

I adapted to my new role of carer well at first, but after time, I felt like I was losing myself. I felt pretty lost, and I had no direction.

Creativity is in my DNA, and I felt like something was missing; there was a huge void…when you’re creative, you need to create!

Re-awakening My Creativity…

A month before Christmas in 2016, I attended a wreath-making workshop. During these few hours, I learnt a new skill and all the worries and problems I was facing drifted away. I’d found my happy place and a sense of calm in what was otherwise chaos.

That’s when I knew I needed to return to my creative roots.

I’m from a family of gardeners and always had my own garden that I tended from age 6, growing and planting my own flowers. So, floral design seemed a very natural choice…after all, it was just using a different medium to create with.

Over the following years, I retrained and rekindled my love of nature and flowers.

Seeds of Change…

Having gone through this dramatic shift, I not only felt the need for change for myself but recognised that I could help others.

I love working with people, and I love nurturing talent.

That’s why I decided to set up Brook & Earl as both a floral design studio and a creative space to teach others.

At last, everything was falling into place.

Brook & Earl is my floral sanctuary for the soul; I hope you’ll love it as much as I do…and that you’ll slow down & enjoy all we have to offer here.
